You Should Respect The Office Of President, No Matter What? Not So Fast... On That One....

This is part of a thread that started from a post. Of how we should respect the Office of President of the United States, no matter who holds that office, nor how they conduct themselves. Referring to Obama...

David: Damn Gary. Did you have a relapse? Respect is earned and respect is lost. Respect does not simply come through holding a position, office, title. It is defined through your displayed personal character. No one has disrespected the office President of the United States, more than Obama himself. Sorry to hear your brain "cancer" returned.

Under your definition here? Putin, Hitler, Castro, etc. should be respected for the offices they held/hold.

Gary: Robert, common respect is granted, not earned, by virtue of the office. position, or circumstance granted to the holder. You don't have to like him, or respect his positions or policies, but you should respect the office, no matter who is elected to it. We only have one President at a time!

David Carter: NO Gary, respect is NOT granted. Your Liberalism has turned your brain to mush. Typically, people who hold the office of President of the United States are people whom have always shown respect for their country and their people, their Constitution, the American governmental process and different branches of government authorities. So, typically those holding the office were respected making the office respected.

But, Obama is a different breed from any President we have known. He purposely lies to the American people to get them to support things that will hurt them. "If you like your healthcare plan? You can keep it! If you like your doctor? You can keep them! PERIOD!!" A blatant, intentional, purposeful lie that has hurt millions of Americans. Including myself. That's just the start of Obama's lies.

Clinton was impeached for lying. Yet, you modern day Liberals champion Obama's lies. If they force things upon American's YOU want, no matter who else's lives are hurt as Americans.

Gary: David, don't bust a gasket, buddy... We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one, unless you acknowledge semantics, and discard the hyperbole, and READ what I wrote. You're making a case as to why he deserves no respect, and that has nothing to do with my point. I clearly said you don't gotta like him, or agree with him, hell, I don't on most things these days, but he is the President, and you should respect the Office!

David: Sorry Gary. For an office, to maintain respect amongst it's people. The person who holds that office. Has to show respect for that office and his people. He has to respect the limited authorities that come with that office. He has to not abuse the powers of that office. He has to respect that he is only ONE part of a THREE equal branch government and each branch's individually granted powers and authorities. Of which Obama has shown none.

As far as Putin, Hitler, Castro, etc.. I was applying your logic and concept, to the citizens of those countries whom had one supreme office. There was only one top office in those countries too.

David: Rae, Clinton was impeached. He was not expelled. Two different things. Being impeached in office, is different than being expelled from office due to having been impeached. You should study U.S. Government. (Followed by Rae deleting his/her comment).

Dianne: Respect for an office should be maintained in order to keep government functioning smoothly. I strongly disagree with your interpretation of Obama's actions, and disagree that he "lied." A complex program was launched and one facet of it did not work as intended, and was fixed. I could cite the non-existant WMDs in Iraq as an example of actual lying, and a lie in a way that killed and injured hundreds of thousands of people. But I can see that your response to liberals is hurling personal insults, so shrug.

David: Dianne, it was NOT fixed. My healthcare plan of 14 years was eliminated BY the Affordable Care Act. Factcheck. org, a bi-partisan Fact Check organization, awarded Obama the Lie Of The Year award. For that lie!

Dianne, I do understand that with a certain ideology, "the ends justify the means." But, a lie is knowing what you are saying is not true. White House internal documents have proven Obama knew what he was saying was a lie. The same with Benghazi. When Obama was first told of the Benghazi attack he was told it was a Islamic terrorists attack. By the Liberal Democrat responsible for notifying the president of the attack. Yet, Obama CHOSE to go out and tell a lie the American people and the World, about a YouTube video. Which White House internal documents have also proven as a lie created within the White House administration.

On the other side, you have two Intel reports. One the CIA Intelligence Report, prepared by a Democrat, George Tenet, appointed by Bill Clinton and the Brown Report of British Intelligence. Both drew the same conclusions.

Liberals like Hillary Clinton, themselves stated exactly what was in those two reports as the same as the President at the time. I've read both reports. I seriously doubt you have. So, if you say the president at the time lied about WMDs based on two different nation's intelligence reports? Then you must also say, "Hillary Clinton lied about WMDs in Iraq." Which we both know you will never do. A strong characteristic of Liberalism, dishonest hypocrisy. Which strips all credibility and integrity from Liberalism. In it's war of Liberalism against all other Americans.

Dianne: Um ... liberals *are* Americans, and no one party has a lock on dishonest hypocrisy. But again, shrug. I apologize to Gary for commenting.

David: Dianne, I never said Liberals are not Americans. Now did I? I said "Liberalism against all OTHER Americans." Which includes Liberals as Americans. No wonder you don't know what you are talking about. You can't even read.

Then deafening silence takes over.

Obama has single-handedly taken an office, which traditionally always garnered universal respect amongst the American people.  Through the majority respect, in general, shown for that office, it's legal limited authority as one branch of a three equal branch government.. by those who preceded him in holding that office...  AND turned that office that once was seen as the pinnacle of protecting the American people's Constitutionally guaranteed Liberties, Freedoms, Rights, National Security, National Safety for citizens... into an office that now represents... through Obama's abuses of authority, stepping outside of that office's legal scope of authority, ignoring the Constitutional limit of powers to that office as well as the Constitutional authorities granted to the other two equal branches of our government, etc.... represents an office of concern to American's Constitutionally granted Liberties, Freedoms, Rights, National Security, National Safety. 

BILL Clinton is the difference between maintaining and preserving respect for the office of President of the United States, in the American people's minds.  The antithesis of Obama's destroying respect for the office of President of the United States. When BILL Clinton came into the office of President of the United States.  He too had a very aggressive Liberal agenda.  However, he recognized his first responsibility as President of the United States was to the people of the United States, NOT his personal political agenda.

When he recognized the people did not support his personal agenda. He put THEM above HIM!  He showed respect for the individual powers and authorities of the three equal branches of American Federal government AND to the voices of the American people, as a whole.  Whom he was put into office of President to serve.  He adjusted his policies accordingly.  Preserving respect for the Office of President of the United States.  In stark contrast Obama has completely ignored the majority voices of Americans voiced in elections during his tenure in office and the powers and authorities of the three equal branches of American government.  Both of which Clinton showed respect.

In American government, by it's definition of creation, "the ends DOES NOT justify the means" which guides modern day Liberalism.  Which is why it was created with three equal branches of government as a system of checks and balances to protect the American people FROM that government and abuse of power and authority.  Which Obama has used that office to totally mow right over the checks and balances system of our Federal government, by it's original design and creation.

IF we follow Gary's argument.  We find ourselves in a place of, "I don't like his policies, he is morally corrupt, his policies impugn our Freedoms, Liberties, Rights guaranteed by our defining documents as a Constitutional Republic, as well as our National Security and personal safety. BUT, he IS the 'President'!  Therefore, we must do what he says!  Even at the demise of our own Constitutionally guaranteed Individual Rights, Liberties and Freedoms, National Security and personal safety.  Out of respect for the office."  

NOT how America works, by it's own definition of creation in documents which define every aspect of the government and Individual citizen's rights.
